1. No way! Way! Party time. Excellent.
WNYC’s Soundcheck is doing a live taping on February 27 at The Library for the Performing Arts. The episode will be a rematch of The Beatles vs. The Rolling Stones Smackdown. (Seemed like a good time, what with the Ladies and Gentlemen…The Beatles! exhibition on display here and all.)
Arguing for The Beatles it’s a team of brothers: comedian, actor, and director Mike Myers (Wayne’s World, Austin Powers, and SNL); and writer and musician Paul Myers, author of acclaimed music biographies such as A Wizard A True Star: Todd Rundgren In The Studio.
For the Stones, it’s comedian and writer Ophira Eisenberg, host of NPR and WNYC’s Ask Me Another; and Bill Janovitz, frontman of the band Buffalo Tom, and author of Rocks Off: 50 Tracks That Tell The Story of The Rolling Stones.
