Winnie’s birthday is almost here! Yes, our beloved Winnie turns 90 years old this Sunday, August 21. We’re throwing a grand party this Saturday, August 20 at the Celeste Bartos Forum in the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building from 3 - 5 pm. Held primarily for children, there’s going to be face painting, balloon animals, a craft project (Make your own birthday hat!), a parade (Yes, just like in the book!), cake, and more. Yes, more! Winnie’s been receiving cards from all over world, including Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. Children and adults have also been making cards, either at our cardmaking crafts program, at home, or spontaneously on one of the Library’s flyers. There’s still time to send Winnie a card to him at the Library — he and his friends have lived here since 1987 — or bring one to the party on Saturday (and bring a kid with you as well). Party time!
